Bag of Tricks Vol. 97: Stabbing Group Synergy Guide

Bog of Tricks Logo

Welcome to the latest installment of our Bag of Tricks! On some days you will find useful tricks, gimmicks and ideas here that can make life in Neverwinter Online easier. Some of the stuff should be well known, but since even veterans learn something new every now and then, chance is you can, too.

In today’s Bag of Tricks we’d like to highlight a nice piece of theorycrafting by two well-known members of Neverwinter’s endgame community. Janne, who runs a website dedicated to theorycrafting and tools, and Tennessee James, author of the most up-to-date TR bible, recently released a full-fledged “Group Synergy Guide“. It covers everything you need to know about power sharing, buffing, and the party in between. If you want to know how to maximize group compositions and how your class can contribute the most, it’s a must read! It gets as detailed as timing certain buff powers properly to maximize the effects and just generally compiles all known infos and facts about group synergy in one giant document.

As piece aimed towards spreading knowledge, they do not hand out recommendations for the best party, and only briefly touch on the meta. So don’t expect a guide in which you can just skip to the conclusion and use whatever the authors suggest.

The main focus of this document was how to time better and how to synergise better with the group, and some of the ‘why’ behind it. Although we’ve touched on some rotations and group compositions, we have stayed away from phrases like “must play x” or “group must have y”.

    Excellent!

I’ve seen Janne’s page and some builds referring to it, the Insatiable Peanut Guide to Stabbing, Sharp’s CW guides, the buff/debuff Tactician GF guide “Together We Ride!” by @rjc9000, and “Help me, Michela!” for DCs, and various good build guides for various other classes.

But this is another excellent addition.

If only there was a good debuff role for Whisperknife. Since the perma-stealth missile build was nerfed into nothing, there’s been no role for it at all. PvP was all it was really good at.

    Or WAS it…?

    Dun, dun, DUUUUUNNNN!!!!

This is great, 10/10. Thank you Janne, Tennessee and everyone else who in some way, shape or form participated in creating this guide.

i was going to read the guide until i saw them making fun of GWFs and calling TR highest dps class lmao 😀 it’s all good though i know they are jealous of our superior intellect and “skills” as DPS GWFs 😀

    Wooooooooot!

Amazing job! Can’t stress enough on how thankful I am!

One thing I noticed: Charm of the Serpent isn’t mentioned on debuffing artifacts. It provides 16% debuff on 6 sec duration.
