Welcome to the 30th installment of our Bag of Tricks! On some days you will find useful tricks, gimmicks and ideas here that can make life in Neverwinter Online easier. Some of the stuff should be well known, but since even veterans learn something new every now and then, chance is you can, too.
Reselling packs has always been something you could make some ADs with. Before VIP it was the golden era of lockboxes where you could amass millions over millions of currency by simply bulk-buying keys, opening specific boxes and resell the drops for a higher value. This specific method is mostly gone nowadays, but the overall strategy is still intact as the case of the Stronghold Starter Pack shows. The contents of the pack indeed sell for more than the original value of the pack.
Our glorious RNG toolbox aids us once again as we have added the Starter Pack as a box so the price of its ingredients can be automatically calculated for the PC version. At the time of this writing, it was 1,738,976 ADs after AH fees. At the current ZAX that’s roughly 3,700 ZEN, already more than the original cost. Add one 15% coupon and you’re looking a about a 340k net gain from simply buying the Pack, opening it and reselling its contents. On Xbox the values will certainly differ and we couldn’t confirm at this point whether reselling the pack is equally profitable for console players.
This also shows we didn’t understate the importance of coupons in our recent ALT guide. The more coupons you generate, the more shots at a bargain like this you get. In any case it’s worth to keep an eye on the reselling market, because there are profits waiting.
