Welcome to the latest installment of our Bag of Tricks! On some days you will find useful tricks, gimmicks and ideas here that can make life in Neverwinter Online easier. Some of the stuff should be well known, but since even veterans learn something new every now and then, chance is you can, too.
It’s no doubt this year’s Protector’s Jubilee has been an overall success story. But everything comes with a price and this time it was the overall availability of the Garden Key. In earlier editions alternative character could get the key by simply doing the dailys throughout the event. This was no longer the case, which significantly degraded alt play.
Good thing you can still get garden access even with characters that didn’t farm enough Figurines to obtain their key. Turns out the Protector delivered no mechanical but a magical key. It unlocks the doors for everyone touching it. Since the key binds to account you can freely move it around and unlock the garden for as many characters as you like. Just make sure to not have the key in your inventory or bank when you access the garden. In that case it will be consumed and the magic is gone.
We’re not sure this is intended, but common sense would indicate it’s not. This backdoor however is active and known since last year, so it doesn’t seem the issue is important enough to get fixed either. VIP has devalued the garden anyway, but for everyone else this could be a good way to get all of their toons into a place with all important merchants in reach.
This definitely works with characters that were already present during the Jubilee, but some players report newly created characters can’t benefit in the same way. In related news it also seems characters left at the garden after the event ran out can still access it without the need to buy a key.
