Bag of Tricks Vol. 71: Data/Sheets on Weapon Enhancements and High-End Group Min/Maxing

Bog of Tricks Logo

Welcome to the latest installment of our Bag of Tricks! On some days you will find useful tricks, gimmicks and ideas here that can make life in Neverwinter Online easier. Some of the stuff should be well known, but since even veterans learn something new every now and then, chance is you can, too.

Ok guys, this post might be a bit on the nerdy side. Last week we discovered two great articles with data and sheets for the dedicated adventurers. Be warned that using both resources takes a deep understanding of the game. So if you just casually want to slay some dragons, move along. But if you want to channel your inner Sharpedge, this is the kind of stuff you definitely need.

PvE DPS Weapon Enchantment Testing Data by @rjc9000

The first doc is by @rjc9000 and offers an in-depth analysis of Weapon Enhancements. As mentioned in the premise, rjc does not just give out advise which enhancement to use on what builds. He instead offers data that players can examine for themselves. The doc is stuffed with valuable information that helps you understand how enhancements work and how the affect certain powers.

A Calculation Sheet to Min-Max Groups

The second doc is a sheet to calculate the best compositions for your endgame group. The amount of numbers is overwhelming, but the last tab in the sheet offers some explanation. In the end only very little stuff has to be edited to come to conclusions.

The sheet is able to compare different composition scenarios to a standard setup. You can take away a buffer for example, exchange it with an additional DPS, and see how it will affect the group performance. It’s also possible to field different DPS or buffing types against each other. To use the sheet you do however need a deep knowledge of classes and their powers, so this only for those that take theorycrafting seriously.

It is not clear when enchantment comparison is done and whether it includes 12b entity powers enchant proc nerfs. Some phases indicate that tests were run before 12b.
