Looks like it’s time to get the hype train started everyone! As we’ve correctly predicted yesterday, the preview server was patched and players are able to get a first look on the new “Tomb of Annihilation” module. As always, there are various official feedback threads for the new features of the content update. So let’s quickly go over the stuff you can test right now, because that’s actually a lot.
Jungles of Chult Campaign
First and foremost, the full campaign and story quests are unlocked, can be played and tested. As you know we’re not a big fan of spoilers. So if you’re interested why adventurer’s need to head to Chult, just play through the thing yourself. It’s not very long anyway.
You’ll eventually be able to explore both the new hub “Port Nyanzaru” and adventure zone “Soshenstar River”. You can just look around, do dailies or test the new Hunting feature!
Additionally you might want to look up the collection windows as it seems that most items from the module were already added!
Armor Penetration and Buffs
Also theorycrafters have new stuff to test and look forward to. The Armor Penetration seems to have a new cap and the way debuffs work is completely changed. This is actually the hottest topic since yesterday based on the number of replies in the feedback thread.
So it makes sense to get your Advanced Combat Tracker ready and see what the new metas is going to look like!
New hope for PVP!
Last but not least, there’s new hope for PVP. A new private queue without rewards attached to it allows for custom queues even with teams smaller than five. This makes dueling or testing completely new game modes that much easier and was indeed a requested feature of a new queue trifecta that features a solo queue, private / premade queue and casual (regular) queue. With that, Armor Penetration was also reworked and is no longer mitigated by Tenacity. The devs also hinted at more changes coming soon, probably with Module 12b.
As you can see, there’s a lot of stuff to test for both PVE and PVP! So don’t hesitate, copy your character over and jump right into the action! As you can imagine we’ll dig deeper into the new stuff in the coming weeks and make sure to preview all the important stuff in-depth.
