Maze Engines Launches With A Few Annoyances, But Little Issues

Yesterday Neverwinter’s Module 9: The Maze Engine went live and you are actually tempted to say that the launch went down quite smoothly. Aside from early struggles with the Auction House and some annoyances players can largely enjoy the new additions without big issues.

Tenser’s Floating Disk is currently BoP while epic Demogorgon is only available at the bottom of the hour like its normal version. There are also some teething troubles with the new queue system and not all Off-Hand Artifacts can be properly refined. The devs did a good job however tackling two major issues with the .4 release candidate. The capstone fight against Orcus could get stuck in the death sphere phase under certain conditions and, because of a bug with overflow bags and how random rewards are generated, it was possible to get the rewards you wanted out of any lockbox. The last one had major exploit potential and would have been a combination of the Nightmare and Unified Elements exploit. One user posted the issue weeks ago and the thread was allowed to stay in the preview bug section for a long time until it was finally trashed by the mods on Sunday or Monday. Good thing the bug disappeared as well.

One thing you could bank on though was that at least some of the new Insignia bonuses would be broken. One of my early candidates Warlord’s Inspiration didn’t fail to deliver. The bonus loops with Bonding Runestones, leading to ridiculously high power levels. I’m quite sure we’ll have more to report on the Insignia front going forward when players have figured out the best combinations.

Kudos to the devs by the way for the Maze Engine welcome pack. It’s really a nice package to start you off with the new Mount system. No question ZEN coupons are just bait, but 50% off some mounts is massive.
