Today I’m going to present a write-up of my Oathbound Paladin buff build for NWO:Uncensored! The German might also refer to the build video on my YouTube channel. Have fun reading through this!
Race and Ability Scores
First of all the Oathbound Buff Paladin works best with the Dragonborn race. Unfortunately it’s exclusively available to purchasers of the Dragonborn Legend Pack or by buying the race separately, without the bonus package items.
- Ability Scores: Grants you +2 to any two stats.
- Dragonborn Fury: Your Power and Critical Strike are increased by 3%.
- Draconic Heritage: You receive 5% more healing from all spells and abilities.
The main ability score you want to push is Constitution, where you should start wil a 17-18 roll to get to 30 at lvl 70, including. Your second priority should be Charisma and Wisdom where you should reach 22.
For this build we are going to take the Oath of Protection Paragon path.
In terms of the talents the Paladin almost never changes because the Justice Path with its cooldown reducing aspects is hands down the best you can pick.
|5/5 Divine Action: Activating Divine Call now generates 5% of your Max AP.
Faster AP is always good especially if you use the right insignia bonus.
|3/3 Toughness: Increases your maximum Hit Points by 9%.
More Hit Points = more buff and you life longer.
|1/5 Light’s Shield: Your Damage Resistance is increased by 0.5%.
You always need more DR.
|3/3 Exemplar’s Haste: Your Encounter Powers recharge 6% faster.
Nothing is better than lower cooldowns.
|3/3 Wrathful Strikes: Your At Will powers deal 6% more damage.
Can’t hurt to make some damage on your own.
|5/5 Steadfast: Each point of Constitution now grants an additional .5/1/1.5/2/2.5% Maximum Hit Points.
Like I said Hit Points = more buff.
|Paragon Feats Justice|
|5/5 Swift Flash: When you are struck by a foe you have a chance to trigger a Flash, granting you increased movement speed of 30% for 4 seconds.
To go fast through dungeons this is very helpful.
|5/5 Bound By Light: Your Control Strength is increased by 2/4/6/8/10%.
A good combo for Templar’s Wrath, one of our main Encounters.
|5/5 Flash of Light: Your encounter powers have a 25% chance to reduce the Cooldown of your nearby allies’ encounter powers by 10%.
This is a must have because nearby allies can attack faster.
|5/5 Radiant Champion: Your very presence inspires your allies. When you have at least 2 other allies within 30′ of you, all of you gain 25% more movement speed and 5% Cooldown Reduction.
Again much more speed for you and you allies + cooldown reduction.
|5/5 Echoes of Light: Your At-Will powers have a 5% chance to trigger Echo on you. Echo makes your next encounter power instantly recharge all of your encounter powers.
Have I mentioned cooldown reduction yet?
|1/1 Vengeful Judge: Your Divine Call now also applies “Judge” to yourself for 10 seconds. “Judge” increases your damage dealt by 35% as well as reducing the cooldown on your currently recharging powers by 35%. Your encounter powers have a chance to immediately grant you a charge of Divine Call.
Oh sweet cooldowns.
|Paragon Feats Light|
|5/5 Gifts of Light: You heal for 10% more.
We have to take something.
|5/5 Warrior’s Bastion: You gain 10% more Defense from equipment.|
|5/5 Aura Gifts: Allies within 30′ of you gain 25% of your Power. And they must remain within 30′ of you for at least 6 seconds to gain this buff.
More power for everyone. Mandatory.
Your gear should prioritize: Power -> Recovery (about 15,000) and Defense (80%) -> Deflect.
Four Weapon Enchantment are viable:
- Transcendent Holy Avenger Enchantment (best for max protection)
- Transcendent Frost Enchantment (good debuff)
- Transcendent Plague Fire Enchantment (good debuff, but mostly used by DC, doesn’t stack if it’s the same rank)
- Transcendent Terror Enchantment (debuff, but considerably worse than Frost / Plague Fire)
You have two choices of Armor Enchantments:
- Transcendent Shadowclad Enchantment (to reach 100% Deflect, for low gs)
- Transcendent Negation Enchantment (mainly for more Recovery)
As active Companion:
- Con Artist (nice 10% debuff that stacks, pretty standard pet these days)
- Harper Bard (Protector’s Camaraderie doesn’t work, but the debuff/buff is still good)
- Dancing Shield (20% debuff for the party, but mostly used by GFs)
As passive Companions:
Mounts and Insignia Bonuses
On the Insignia’s you should prioritize the same stats as mentioned above: Power, Recovery, Defense or Deflection.
