Monday’s Bag Of Tricks Vol. 2: Keep An Eye On The PTS

Bag of Tricks Logo

Welcome to the second installment of our Bag of Tricks! On some days you will find useful tricks, gimmicks and ideas here that can make life in Neverwinter Online easier. Some of the stuff should be well known, but since even veterans learn something new every now and then, chance is you can, too!

New modules hitting the preview server is always exciting for Neverwinter Online players. Nearly very Friday new stuff is being patched, can be reviewed, and tested. While the preview server is a great way to get an early look at upcoming changes and help improving the game, you can also benefit from the gained knowledge on the live server.

Let’s go over an example from Module 6 here. The Terror Enchantment looked to become the “best-in-slot” enchant in Elemental Evil, at least for PVP. Although the changes on preview were not final, the market on live reacted quickly and the prices actually skyrocketed in the wake of the preview patch. You could make a decent buck by buying out the Enchants and Shards and resell them for an instant return of investment of like 200%.

Even if you weren’t quick enough initially, the chances to benefit were still there. Shards were selling for something between 7,000 and 10,000 ADs, which suddeenly made the Gnarlroot Caves a pretty decent farming spot, especially if you were lucky or smart enough to hoard Dark Fey Keys.

Sometimes it takes some experience and knowledge of the game to evaluate balancing changes and forecast market movement, but some stuff is also rather obvious, like changes to the bind state of items. Either way, it’s good to keep an eye on the patch notes on Fridays and log in to see what changed.

We hope this one was helpful and be sure to come back for the next edition of our Bag of Tricks!
