Neverwinter Community Watch

The Community Watch is a recurring format on the weekends that summarizes interesting stories, forum posts, links and news in the Neverwinterverse that are worth reporting, but don’t warrant a full own post.

Here’s what happened during the last week our site vacation:

  • The next major update has been announced with “Sea of Moving Ice”.  The devs already blogged about its features, the new zone as well as sailing and fishing.
  • Garlaanx and Nova weight in on the new update in their videos.
  • JHZ Gaming released a leveling guide. Originally intended for PS4 it’s also applicable for other versions.
  • TrashTalkGamingHD filled the void of our Community Watch with a news roundup from last week.
  • In CaptnSpicyPants the game is losing an active Youtuber. He outlined the reasons in this video. Thanks for your content buddy and farewell!
  • The PWE subreddit remains a controversial environment. Another thread about what content should be allowed exploded and got eventually locked. As usual several references to our site were trashed.
  • After days of testing @two30 solved the riddle of how to get “Sea of Moving Ice” running on Wine. Congrats!

PC

  • The personal game blog Neverwinter Thoughts has been quite active in October. Give it a visit!
  • This how to multi proc Chaos Magic might be interesting for PVPers.
  • For all those that like a good amount of drama: Well known leader of The Crusaders Alliance, @rinat114, was accused of selling her account on EpicNPC. The post used public screenshots and generic data about the account and was removed soon after.
  • Also clashing with Lia was popular console streamer AlsRandomkill. A few days after she had released her GWF rotation video, he followed with a rotation video of his own. In an ensuing shitstorm the community accused him of stealing Lia’s build which eventually led to the takedown of the video. A copy is still available here.
  • To conclude our drama section: Sharpedge received quite a lot of hate from other players for allegedly being the reason for the removal of legacy set bonuses and decided to seal off his work because of that. In case you didn’t know: You can still handily beat FBI without those sets.
  • There are also appreciation threads on both arcgames and reddit for the work Sharp has done.
  • One CW compendium might be gone, but another one is already in the making.
  • Up for a challenge? Maybe do Epic Demogorgon with three players?
  • Some players think the most recent nerf to the Siege of Neverwinter voucher drop rate was too big.
  • Contrary to the solo queue, the duo one didn’t receive positive feedback.
  • Players are currently discussing alternatives to the missing and soon to be nerfed Loyal Gear.
  • We know more class reworks will come and the TR community tries to pitch ideas in advance.
  • GWFs in the meantime discuss how to deal with piercing damage.
  • Obvious things are obvious: The Ardent shop needs an update.

Consoles

  • For the currently running Challenge of the Gods event both FNHUSA57 and Garlaanx have video guides up.
  • Someone defeated Traven Blackdagger with one hand, because everything else is boring and why not?
  • New platform, old problems: Cost vs. gain of lockboxes.
  • And many of the early issue of the Tyranny campaign also seem to be present on consoles.
  • After rocking the Xbox, LGPG is also leading the PS4 in overall progress and have recently unlocked all Masterwork professions.
  • A post on our message board however also mentions a guild drama within the LGPG alliance due to the focus shift from Xbox to PS4.
