Neverwinter Cross-Account Buyout Data

The devs are very active lately in trying to get those third-party sellers, more precisely their buyers, punished. The latest ban-wave happened on January 29th on Xbox. There is pretty much only one good way for sellers to transfer the Astral Diamonds to their buyers and that’s buying out auctions. Those auctions follow a certain pattern. The buyer always posts an item for the amount of ADs purchased that’s widely available and cheap. The best known one is probably the Portable Altar. The buyout price can includes the AH fees depending on whether the seller covers them or not (1,111,111 vs. 1,000,000 for example).

We have used our auction house data to compile a list of suspicious cross-account transactions. This can be players buying from third parties or transferring currency between multiple accounts. However there are also very legit explanations of players posting unlikely high prices for items that normally go for pennies. As always treat the list as data, not accusations.

The final list from the last 30 days includes 696 handles and is available here.

The table below shows 80 handles that posted at least 10 auctions worth 10,000,000 AD or more for a grand total of 1,989,479,951 AD.

So when I used to do farm Castle Never, the ‘leader’ would hold onto the high ticket items sell them and then we’d post a portable altar and they’d buy it. Basically splitting the value of the run between the party.

There isn’t always bots using this method, it’s a legitimate way to transfer funds between players for high ticket items you want to divide among a party.

Auctions of 100,000,000 should not be included in the data. You can help improving the list by providing the item of the auction which you feel was incorrectly tagged here.
