Neverwinter Weekender: Thanksgiving Frenzy Behind, Icewind Dale Ahead

weekenderlogoThe Neverwinter Weekender is our brand-new weekly column that contains everything you need to know to have some fun along the Sword Coast on the weekends! We’ll inform you guys about the events across all platforms, preview and review them as well as hand out some tips and guides. This is the perfect spot to start off your adventures!

We often complain around here about this and that, but sometimes the devs throw a full bag of gratitude towards players. The Thanksgiving Frenzy was such an occasion. When playing over the holidays, you didn’t even need to try as hard but ended up with 200,000k+ Rough Astral Diamonds on your mains. By just playing the game. Isn’t that how it should be by the way?

Smoothly Getting to the RAD cap

Player could not only get to the RAD cap on character quickly, but also hoard for the coming days and weeks. Plus we’re sure you found a good way to utilize the Double Guild Marks and Refinement. Yeah the Black Friday ZEN store sale was only 40% this year, but let’s not complain about something that’s still vastly better than anything else you’ll see over the year. Even the ZAX came down significantly during the event and probably allowed players to trade in what they wanted.

The one downer obviously was the charge promotion. We sure hope the devs will get this right and honor their original announcement. Other than that not much to complain about Thanksgiving as everyone should have been able to make some coin.

Icewind Dale Campaign Currency

Before the Winter Festival arrives at the Sword Coast players have a chance to bring their toons through older campaigns. Hopefully you used the Double Experience last week to get to level 70, because this week it’s Double Icewind Dale and next week Double Underdark. You can even start working on Mod 7 now because the Demonic Heroic Encounters net Faerzress. You are able to get 200 Caer-Konig Reputation throughout the weekend which is a fast forward to four boons. The Heroics are nicely populated so dailies should be quick.

Now that it looks like these Double Campaign events are a regular part of the schedule players should focus on newer content (Maze Engine, Storm Kings Thunder) and catch up whenever an event is up. For many campaigns two such weekends should be enough to get through, which is absolutely amazing considering that the campaigns were designed to keep players busy for at least a month. Just monitor the calendar and make sure to complete the introductory quest lines in advance.

Storm the Keep and  Double Glory

The campaign weekend is accompanied by Double Glory and the Storm the Keep Call-to-Arms. Unfortunately the devs messed with the scaling so that lower levels aren’t properly scaled to 60. It’s a pretty one-shotting mess for lowbies and the best way is probably to avoid the event altogether. For everyone else it’s time to restock on those Brutals, which sell at a nice price on the Auction House even on lower ranks.

We hope you guys will enjoy the weekend with our overview! Neverwinter UN:Blogged is always looking for writers to contribute to the blog.
