Neverwinter Weekender: The Winter Festival is Here!

weekenderlogoThe Neverwinter Weekender is our brand-new weekly column that contains everything you need to know to have some fun along the Sword Coast on the weekends! We’ll inform you guys about the events across all platforms, preview and review them as well as hand out some tips and guides. This is the perfect spot to start off your adventures!

Jingle Bells

The holiday season officially started off alongside the Sword Coast with the annual Winter Event. For PS4 players the beautiful town of Twilight Tor is a true new experience, but the devs also have some improvements and surprises in store for Xbox and PC players. In case you’re a new face and unfamiliar with the festivities, make sure to browse to our preview, guide and review from last year, which contain tons of information. For everyone else we’ll be quickly touching on the new stuff.

More Fishing?!

A new exchange lets players trade specific event currency for campaign ones. It is limited to Module one to five and unfortunately tied to Fishing because the exchangeable currency drops there. After Sea of Moving Ice players are probably not really looking forward to spend extend hours at the holes, it is however worth the effort. With the legendary Fishing Pole the currencies drop at a reasonable rate and should help adventurers who have not yet completed the campaigns. Especially Linu’s Favors and Thayan Ciphers are worth gunning for.

Helper Companion

We consider the Helper Companion Charge Reward a valuable deal. For ten bucks you get an account-wide unlock that not only helps with the event, but also is a nice Bonding Companion for DPS builds with three offensive and two ring slots. You can’t buy as much good stuff for Simril especially if this is not your first Winter Festival though.

Good complementary events

Having Double Experience and a sale on Services next to the Winter Festival makes tons of sense. Players might want to buy more slots and level characters for the sole purpose of claiming the Gifts each day. Overall the event got some useful additions and should be fun again. Go race a bit and grab the Sleds, which are some of the cooler Mount skins around!
