Neverwinter Weekender: Wonders of Gond and Double Underdark

weekenderlogoThe Neverwinter Weekender is our brand-new weekly column that contains everything you need to know to have some fun along the Sword Coast on the weekends! We’ll inform you guys about the events across all platforms, preview and review them as well as hand out some tips and guides. This is the perfect spot to start off your adventures!

Wonders of Gond

The Wonders of Gond event is back and adventurer’s can once again refine their way up to a Doohickey. Be warned, the event is very grindy. With 4,955 Grommets needed it’s not realistic to get all the way up during the event days. Big accounts however can and should utilize the special profession tasks. The full event math is available here.

You can compile event RPs over multiple edition, but at this point it’s probably best to just look for a quick buck. Sell the drops unless you really, really want to try your luck getting one of the Mounts. The Doohickey itself also long has lost its viability as damage device since it has never been updated with the level cap increase.

The event is a nice opportunity for resellers though. Our Enchantment Market Tool, which supports the Gond event, currently promises up to 20% profit for refining and selling a Doohickey on PC. Even not thinking that big players with professions of at least level six can profit. The resources for the special event tasks cost around 3,000 AD and net 9,000 in event RP. That’s probably a lot better than running your usual Leadership stuff. Monitor the market though as the numbers could change over the weekend.

In case you’re interested in a review of the last installment you can browse here. The wiki also has you covered. With the foundry down the best farming spot seems to be the Stronghold or Elemental Evil areas. Downscaled level 70 toons can pretty much one-shot everything there.

Double Underdark Currency and Seals

Underdark Banner

Next to Wonders of Gond players can amass Underdark Currency and ideally even complete the campaign. You need 7,000 Faerzress, which are 70 Heroic Encounters, 35 Skirmishes, 24 Demogorgons or a healthy mix of these three. It’s a bit of a grind, but in case you still need the campaign it’s really reasonable to get the necessary Faerzress to batch complete Underdark in the coming weeks. In the process you’ll land Demonic Ichor, Salvage and Double Seals. What’s not to like?

Solo Queue is back!

Additionally the devs bring back the solo queue on all platforms. Slowly this is getting a stable feature and we hope it stays that way. There are some valid concerns, but it’s undoubtedly true that it brings more players to PVP. And at this point that’s most important for the dying game mode.

We hope you guys will enjoy the weekend with our overview! In case you have any additions or remarks post them in the comments below or visit the corresponding thread on our message board.

Ive won 3-4 doohickeys during winter festival last two years.. I actually turned them in for a chance at the mount this last time.

As always, cryptic misses the mark on some of this stuff, instead of being a fun little event, they turn it into a cash grab.. for a mostly worthless prize.
