This Content Is Not Official and Is Not Supported by PWE (A Farewell of Sorts)
Sup fellas! First of all, let me say sorry that the blog and the site have been silent for the last couple weeks without an apparent reason. Sometimes life moves fast, and that has certainly been the case for me lately. Many reached out through different channels and tried to figure out what the heck is going on, and today I’m finally able to write something up.
Unfortunately, the announcement I have to make might not be what you’d like to hear. Effective immediately, I won’t be able to maintain Uncensored any longer. I’m moving on to a new chapter in my life, personally and professionally, which is too demanding and important for me to write articles every day, play the game, and code for the site. I was very conflicted because I love the project, but it’s simply not something I cannot do. I guess that’s part of growing up.
I will write up some more stuff about what’s going to happen with the site in the coming days. I don’t plan to take it down entirely, just some aspects won’t be updated as frequently, or at all. The most obvious casualty is the blog, where I’ve written up 95% of the posts myself. I do however plan to keep the Toolbase updated as best as possible and have the board and Discord open for those that value Uncensored as alternative, non-official, and fully independent discussion platform.
I also plan to publish a more extensive farewell. But for now, this should just serve as an announcement so you guys know what’s going on. Let me just say that the last four years covering the game have been an absolute blast. Uncensored was my first major “hit” in the interwebs and will always be more than a project in my résumé. How it has grown to 100,000 freaking users per months from scratch is just insane. And what I’ve learned in web development, community management, and other aspects is invaluable.

I would suggest/hope that you could find your way to delegating the work to some of your trusted contributors. You’ve made the bones of this great site, let others do the heavy lifting while you no longer have time.

As others have mentioned, its sad to see you go and the basic reason why this site did so well, still remains true today, the obfuscation at the official forums, their terrible communication and overall lack of foresight, temperament and knowledge on how to deal with players.
They simply cannot handle it, this site grew out of the desperation of players to communicate with each others and discuss the actual game.
With it gone, it does leave a area of massive concern as to who it happens in the future.
Sadly, official forums will never change, their overall TOS and strict enforcement’s, will never allow players to actually discuss the game.

I was wondering why the forums were down, but now I understand why. Consequently, I haven’t been on the forums much, as they’ve kinda grown stagnant, especially after MinMax left. If you need help with articles, you can ask and if it comes down to it, I’ll talk to my wife and see if we can’t host the site on our web server, if you want to keep it up. I’m not the developer, though. That’s her side, so I’d have to find out if she’s even willing to do it. XD

Seriously, thank you for being the engine behind this platform. Since I found it awhile back it’s provided an extra level of depth to my knowledge of the game.
It’s also provided a really important sanity check on game weirdness, validating my experience with some of the ridiculous issues that crop up in-game.
As others have noted – I do wish you well in your new work, but I sure hope you can find a willing person or group to pass the baton to on this platform, so that the good work you’ve done continues to live on.

There are many of us who can step in and pick up the NW:U flag.

So is it back up? Seeing comments implying it is but a formal post might be useful. Is it permanent, temporary or are we just getting a few posts here and there before the end?
