Unblogged Wisdom Checks: How Did Cryptic Handle the Hunt Exploit and Aftermath?

It’s safe to say that Cryptic’s handling of the Hunt exploit has been discussed controversially. While we and some of the bigger YouTubers have been critical (mostly because it took so long to fix and acknowledge the exploit), we also know that many of you have different opinions. Also some barking of the endgame population could just be a reflection of a slight concern that one might get banned.

That’s why we’re interested in your opinion on how Cryptic dealt with the situation. Was it ok to never acknowledge the exploit until it was fixed? Are the bans justified or over the top?

Voted neutral as I don’t measure the number of accounts that used the exploit and the number of bans, but clearly the banhammer needed to strike. People cheating like this had a so freaking big advantage over legit players that imo only 3 days ban as the lowest sanction is too few, and permaban for spreading the exploit, especially on twitch/youtube is necessary.
So without a large overview of the amount of sanctions, I’ll stay at a neutral position of “cheaters got punished and that’s good”.

However, even if banhammer is good in such conditions, let’s not forget that yeah, the exploit have been running on PC and there’s a banwave. But it has also hit the consoles SEVERAL WEEKS after being discovered on PC, and hasn’t even been fixed SEVERAL WEEKS after release on consoles. And that is a MAJOR issue of QA and game analysis.

This vote make no sense 😀 Almost all ppl that voted for “Abysmal – Mishandled everything from top to bottom… ” used this exploit ant this is obvious that they will vote for this 😀 All ppl that used this exploit deserve to get this ban and im really happy that they will do this 🙂

You obviously just started playing this game. Give it a year and you’ll change your tune. I would bet that you exploited something in this game that could be considered against the terms of service by cryptic.

Exploiters got banned. You have the responsibility to play legit even if theres a glitch. Dont use it if you want to game honestly and not get banned.
