Unblogged Wisdom Checks: How Excited Are You About Ravenloft as Next Module Setting?

Since last week we know that Ravenloft is going to become the setting for Neverwinter’s next module. Players will adventure the lands of Barovia, deal with the evils there, and eventually challenge Strahd von Zarovich in his castle. Ravenloft is considered one of the more iconic settings in D&D history. Originally designed in 1983, it grew so popular that it was launched as a full-fledged campaign setting in 1990. Wizards of the Coast continued to include and update Ravenloft for their 3rd and 4th edition rule sets before giving the setting an official story line in the 5th edition with “Curse of Strahd”.

Ravenloft is extremely popular among the pen and paper folks, but are you equally excited to see it in Neverwinter? Are you looking forward to explore the mists or do you think it’s not a great fit?

Many of you were, and the devs have already granted your wish!

If the items dropped on the new dungeon are more than 500k AD i would be farming it, other than that i dont feel like doing it ever, because the new seals are dropping at tong, and tong its gonna be less than 15min with a good TR/supports.

Very! …have checked out a little bit on preview server and so far the setting has the very atmospheric feel one would expect from a Ravenloft setting!

There also seem to be some interesting new mechanics such as the Tarokka deck and the day-night cycle.

Its not always about the new items and new dungeon…end gamers had enough ilvl at 16k now people shout for 18k on channels which is already unecessary!

I think the setting is cool, I’m somewhat curious about the new instanced hunts. Depending on how that turns out, I might give hunts another try.
However, I’m more than a little disappointed that they seem to be establishing this new trend of raising the IL with each new module. All that means is that after June 26, no one is going to be doing anything but the new dungeon. By constantly raising the IL, they are essentially dumping all the old content into the “farm as quickly as you can as a daily chore” category.

Another 1 hour a week campaign. If they do not start adding content this game is doomed

    excited ?!

    About what ?

One dungeon ? That after a month we’ll do in 20 minutes max…
a new campaign that you do on monday for the all week ?
Freakin awfully bad rng from awfully boring and grinding hunts ?
    Bad new artefacts ?
    Bad hunting gear drop ?
No new maps in pvp nor really balance for the launch ?
No new race and of course no new class ?

Naaah… I am really really not excite about that mod :/

At least, the ame is still free to play.
