What’s the Best Way to Acquire Guild Marks in Module 15?

[sc name=”discord”]

In this article we’re quickly going over the best way to acquire Guild Marks. Since their introduction in Module 7: Strongholds, they have lost some value over time, but are still used to buy useful gear or Masterwork related assets and resources. Especially the latter is able to generate quite some ADs if your guild has access to the Treasure Hunter Boon and/or Temporary Structures. The only way to generate Guild Marks is by donating resources to your guild’s coffers. Unfortunately farming different coffer currencies is not equally easy. The campaign ones are a pain for example, especially if you need them yourself to progress. And others that are simple to obtain are do not net as much GMs. So here is our toplist of what to aim for if you simply want to max out Guild Marks.

Utilize the Double Events

While this is not about a currency, utilizing the double events is an obvious hint. It might not be as easy however if your guild has strict weekly donation rules for their members. So make sure you don’t step on your guild leaders’ toes when holding the currency back for a Double Guild Mark event.

Surplus Equipment (Quartermaster Enchantments and M15 Epic Gear Pieces)

Quartermaster’s Enchantment, Rank 8 is great to acquire a large amount of Guild Marks over time. The bags they drop can be donated to the “Surplus” coffer and should land you about 50,000 GM on a double event. This obviously only makes sense for characters that farm dailies, and hence kill a lot of mobs on a regular basis. The bags can also drop in dungeons, but note that you need to hit the final blow. It makes much less sense running QM on support chars in group content because of that.

The other way of filling up the Surplus Equipment Coffer are epic gear pieces in Module 15. Since those no longer can be salvaged to RAD, it makes most sense to stash them away for a Double Guild Mark event and then donate them. 92 turn into 30,000 Guild Marks. Considering that a few dungeons or hunts per day might already get you 8-10 pieces, it’s a relatively reliable way to get a substantial amounts of GMs.

Profession Resources (M15 only)

All profession resources can be donated into coffers and net Guild Marks. Since you can run Gathering on many toons 24/7, this is effectively a way to turn Gold into some GMs. Most resources only net measly amounts however and endgame guilds and alliances have their Profession Supplies coffers capped or sealed off all the time anyway, making this merely an outside option. If you see an opening however, you can’t do wrong with throwing stuff you don’t need into a coffer.

Some players have also worked around full coffers by forming so-called “dummy guilds”. A group of five during a double event can create a guild, donate Profession Supplies (or Surplus Equipment) until the coffers are capped, delete the guild, and start over.

Daily Influence and Shards

It’s boring as hell, but doing your daily HEs and Shards really is key, especially during double events. I personally don’t even do this each and every day and still easily generate upwards 50,000 GM per double event and character. Running the Stronghold and the two easy skirmish and dungeon queues for shards is a 30-minute task, and really worth the effort.

On top of that, any decent guild should have weekly runs of the Marauders event for an additional 600 Influence.

Profession Crates (M14 only)

Each profession offers crates that can be donated to different coffers. I personally am not a big fan of doing those vs. Leadership, but there’s still some value if you’re solely looking for Guild Marks. Also leveling a normal profession is pretty easy. On alternate characters it could make sense do crates in case you don’t want to take on the full Leadership grind. It’s inferior in terms of value, but much less of a pain.

Use recipes like the ones from Artificing that require resources that can fully be obtained from temporary Stronghold structures. That way you basically trade very few Guild Marks to generate even more.

Siege of Neverwinter

The Siege of Neverwinter is another great source! On its event map different vouchers drop at a reasonable enough rate to warrant farming them. The Siege usually runs for two weeks. So you have plenty of time to fill your inventory!

I have a bunch of Influence and other vouchers in the bank waiting for the next Double Guild Marks event.

Luckily, when I max out on Guild Marks, I know some friendly Guild Officers in other guilds who will give me a temporary invite to spend them!

Xbone just finished a 2X influence weekend. The Siege event continues for a couple more weeks, then we get 2X Guild Marks at the end of the month. 🙂

Well it’s official guild marks will be the next nerf thanks to this blog. The devs have stated extensively that their goal is to stop people from hoarding. Every activity that is tied to hoarding for 2x events has been nerfed. In this blog you encourage people to hoard. Thus guaranteeing that guild marks will be the next nerf. Thanks again unblogged.

don’t matter, GM value is kind of self regulating. Since the value is in the explorer cases. The more people do them the less value they have (supply begins to out pace demand). So if everyone does this, GMs become worthless.

That and Explorer’s cases are a pain in the ass to actually run, so the more you hoard, the more you can look forward to a long boring grind in the future.

In the past you’ve defended the legitimacy of this site by saying that you “didn’t share or talk about active exploits or explain how to take advantage of them” Several lines in this post here, prove that a very hypocrite lie.

The legitimacy of this site is based on the fact that we provide daily content for the game. We do post about exploits because it’s part of an honest coverage, but if you don’t agree you’ll still find 95% of our posts informative and helpful. Wonder who’s being hypocrite around here? We serve 100k+ Neverwinter players and a vocal minority with extremist opinions won’t change what we’ve successfully been doing for four years now. Taking this post as “proof” is especially hilarious by the way. Yes dummy guilds is sort of a gray area, but the devs had two years to shut it down and didn’t do anything. It’s long become a feature and we’ve rephrased the post to better fit the current state of the game. So thanks for calling that out!

Not only vocal, minority and extremist, but also dim, thick and, with a name like Drizzt, completely lacking in any imagination.

A Dummy Guild for getting Guild Marks is no more an “exploit” than rolling an Alt for storage space or buying potions from the AH to sell to vendors for gold, or vice versa for AD. I don’t think it’s even a grey area.

There’s no requirement to remain in the same guild forever, and there’s no requirement that all characters on an account must be in the same guild. Any party of 5 over level 15 can form a guild whenever they like, and they can disband it whenever they like as well. It’s not as if there is even a way to stop people doing this, as there is no malfunction of the code and no weird, unexpected, specific set of very odd and unusual steps to take in order to make use of it (like the Astral Resonator and Ghunt exploits).

You simply use the systems, which are WAI, as intended: form a guild, sell your junk, disband the guild, join a bigger guild, buy the stuff you need with your Guild Marks.

It’s not the player’s fault that the Mimic should get filled up and maxed out so easily.

        🙂
