Neverwinter Community Watch

The Community Watch is a recurring format on the weekends that summarizes interesting stories, forum posts, links and news in the Neverwinterverse that are worth reporting, but don’t warrant a full own post. Here’s what happened during the last week: Hawchang did adjust tons of tooltips on the wiki last week. Thanks bud! Techradar ranked Neverwinter #34 of their 45 free games to play in 2017. Should you give the Prophecy of Madness skirmish an item level requirement? Players with disabilities need to get creative when it comes to picking a class: Which character requires the least amount of button mashing? You can now collect Steam trading cards for the game! Can someone please explain feeder artifacts to me like i’m a 12 year old? – Sure! As tank, do you pick the defense or HP guild boon? Assassin’s Covenant for GWF? PC The first players unlocked Spellpague during the week and here’s a video of a run. And with that, the community starts asking themselves how SP compares to FBI. The first patch of the new “11b” content update is on the PTS. Specific feedback threads will follow, but the one for the new item levels is already up. Nova also weighted in

Neverwinter Weekender: Mr. Snibbly is back

The Neverwinter Weekender is our weekly column that contains everything you need to know to have some fun along the Sword Coast on the weekends! We’ll inform you guys about the events across all platforms, preview and review them as well as hand out some tips and guides. This is the perfect spot to start off your adventures! Mr. Snibbly is back On Thursday one of the major events in Neverwinter started on PC. The Day of the Dungeon Master is the game’s tribute to its pen-and-paper origin and particularly Acquisitions Incorporated. In case you’re unfamiliar with it you can get the latest AI live show from PAX East here. The franchise also started a spin-off called the “C-Team” recently. In Neverwinter the event is all about giving players that tabletop feeling by quite literally putting them on top of tables as miniature statuettes. You’ll be part of adventures with Portobello “Chris Perkins” DaVinci, Flabbergast and his cat Mr. Snibbly. In the month-long and fun-first event players can progress through two special campaigns that you find at the bottom of the Sword Coast Chronicle campaign window. Respen’s Marvelous Game includes the two original maps of the format while Portobello is a full blown

What Can Players Expect From the Revamped Spellplague Caverns?

The first players have unlocked Spellplague Caverns this week and more will gradually be able to run the revamped dungeon. So it’s time to look what players can expect with and in latest tier of group content. We collected a few thoughts and comments from those that have been testing Spellplague Caverns on the preview already and compiled the most interesting tidbits. But first, let’s actually look at a run from Youtuber “northside”. It’s fun! Most players we asked about the new dungeon responded that it’s a fun encounter. Some even say it’s the best design to date. Not much reminds you of the old Spellplague days, which were largely about punting adds into the acid. New foes have taken over over the caverns, so it thematically makes sense that the gameplay experience differs. The old hidden/optional boss however is indeed back! If you like secrets, this will please you! The regular bosses feature new unique mechanics that can’t be offset by sheer DPS. Players generally seem to like this approach and that you need to be smart about the boss fights. You don’t go anywhere if you don’t understand the mechanics, but have a pretty easy life if you

Neverwinter Community Watch

The Community Watch is a recurring format on the weekends that summarizes interesting stories, forum posts, links and news in the Neverwinterverse that are worth reporting, but don’t warrant a full own post. Here’s what happened during the last week: Oops! The official Twitter account from Neverwinter liked and replied to a tweet from a goldseller. JayAgeDee released his latest dungeon Machinima. This time in remembrance of Throne of Idris! Open letter from the community to the devs are pretty common. Here’a another one. Rewards from overflow experience really could need an update. Bag of Tricks Vol. 50: Get Assassin’s Covenant on the Cheap

Welcome to the latest installment of our Bag of Tricks! On some days you will find useful tricks, gimmicks and ideas here that can make life in Neverwinter Online easier. Some of the stuff should be well known, but since even veterans learn something new every now and then, chance is you can, too. Assassin’s Covenant is the new must-have Insignia Bonus since Module 10 for DPS builds, but so far it hasn’t been available on a cheap Mount. This changed with Module 11 and the introduction of the Many-Starred Lockbox. Its Mount Pack drops the blue Aberrant Fey Wolf that’s able to hold the bonus. The Stormraider Clydesdale from the ZEN market is an account-unlock and has other possible Insignia Bonuses, but even if you’re waiting for a big 40% sale on the Jubilee, that’s still slightly over 1M AD, or 20x Fey Wolfs. So if you don’t plan to supply more than 20 characters with Assassin’s Covenant, it’s not worth it. Those Wolves are looking like a very good deal for the Clydesdale-less, even with planning to equip a number of alts. Neverwinter Weekender: Strongholds and Guild Marks

The Neverwinter Weekender is our weekly column that contains everything you need to know to have some fun along the Sword Coast on the weekends! We’ll inform you guys about the events across all platforms, preview and review them as well as hand out some tips and guides. This is the perfect spot to start off your adventures! Strongholds and Guild Marks Since a few days we know that Module “11b” will focus around guilds and this weekend both PC and consoles can prepare with various events around the Stronghold. The discount on Guild Marks is especially nice since players that planned accordingly should have plenty from the Double event that ran in February. Now is the perfect time to spend them! The devs also threw a Double Influence weekend and a Stronghold sale at players to complete a flurry of guild related events. It might be worth mentioning that quests from boon structures that return up to 100 Influence are not affected by the daily cap. So the possible number of Influence to farm per day is 1,400. Just note that the quests are on a 20 hour cooldown, they do not reset with other dailies each morning. Gyrion

Today’s Patch Will Bring Massive Devoted Cleric Changes and Much Needed Campaign Improvements

Today Neverwinter will release its first major patch in the Cloaked Ascendancy and it’s safe to say it will shake up the current meta by quite a bit. The Devoted Cleric is getting its rework pushed to live after very limited time on preview to test it. Most feel it’s too early (as usual), but you would assume that Module 11b is already looming and will hit preview soon. So that was probably simply the time they had to present the changes to the audience. Moar damage! We’ll have a more detailed piece at some point next week with community opinions and an in-depth look at the changes, but want to quickly outline the most important points today. The devs tried to tackle multiple issues with their changes. First of all depending on the build, Clerics can run into severe trouble in solo content. They most likely do not die very much, but since their damage is low they have to drag themselves through dailies. So powers are getting a flat 30% increase in damage, which should actually help a lot. It remains to be seen whether this could also make Clerics a true viable DPS option in endgame. The most prominent

Chettlebell Explains It All Vol. 6: What you Need From the ZEN Market

Good day! Tristopher Chettlebell, Neverwinter’s preeminent historian at your service. In my capacity as an expert in all things Neverwinter, I’ve agreed to author a series of articles detailing various situations in Neverwinter that adventurers regularly have trouble understanding. It’s a big job, but nevertheless, I must persevere. Annoying, but needed Today we’re continuing our mini-series about the ZEN market. After pointing out items you want to avoid, we’re following up by stuff that might not be a true bargain, but is surely needed on your adventures. VIP treatment Who doesn’t like being treated like the Protector himself? For a small fee you get some travel services, limited magical supplies, free keys from the dwarven forges to open some hidden chests in dungeons, a daily bath with pretty Elve… Oh, no bath you say? Nevermind, it’s still good. Get your entrance to the VIP area because it makes adventuring that much easier! Lockbox Keys Testing your luck can be annoying, but it’s not like the Forgotten Realms Anti Unemployment Daily Lottery (“FRAUD” Lottery) isn’t doing good things. It keeps the city rolling and there are some rumors the Protector himself might even have run out of money lately. So by

Neverwinter Community Watch

The Community Watch is a recurring format on the weekends that summarizes interesting stories, forum posts, links and news in the Neverwinterverse that are worth reporting, but don’t warrant a full own post. Here’s what happened during the last week: Neverwinter’s Lamp Light guild has produced its own comic. Here’s the vod from the State of the Game stream on Tuesday. We also have a summary up. Plus Nova and Garlaanx both did an opinion video and Kali Gold covered the whole event live! Reddit also has the highlights of the stream in written form. The PVP community is rightfully up in arms about the lack of announcements regarding the game mode. In case you’re digging artwork, you might like this sketch of a twitter user. Seavia in the meantime brings a beautiful River District Machinima. Oh, and by the way, JayAgeDee hast started streaming his demo art skills. Great stuff! Why should you join a guild? Well, here are some benefits! True altruistic behavior is rare, but our Community Manager might be owning it. Hawchang updated a bunch of items on the official wiki this week, including the new chest rewards. Thanks bud! Updates at MMOMinds include Legos’s PVE Combat HR (video!), a

Bag of Tricks Vol. 49: Illusionist’s Gambit Bronze Fleece Farm

Welcome to the latest installment of our Bag of Tricks! On some days you will find useful tricks, gimmicks and ideas here that can make life in Neverwinter Online easier. Some of the stuff should be well known, but since even veterans learn something new every now and then, chance is you can, too. The players that aim for the new Mirage Weapon Set have to farm the Illusionist’s Gambit skirmish quite a bit. You need 35 Fleece to get enough of the resource for both your Main and Off-Hand. It’s not a terribly unreasonable grind however as you are guaranteed to get one Fleece per run. And it turns out you don’t even need a gold completion for it. While Gold rewards players with more Seals, Abandoned Treasures and a higher chance at more quality companion gear, you are indeed getting a Fleece every run. Players have figured it out and have started requesting Bronze multi-runs. We’re not sure this is intended, but quickly beating the first waves and then quit using the group vote does seem to be the quickest way to farm Fleece right now.
