*** UPDATE *** This got fixed in Patch NW.105.20181022a.18. Supplement tasks now no longer produce more Gold than they cost. Sad face…
As you probably know Gold suddenly became a rather important resource in Neverwinter’s Module 15 thanks to the new Workshop system. Thanks to the delivery box you’re able to run tasks 24/7, but that comes at a price, in this case Gold. You need lots and lots of it. Which raises the question how you actually farm Gold. It’s not that anyone ever needed to do that. So there’s naturally no blueprint to follow. Gladly, our theorycrafters are already on it and Uncensored regular Rainer has put up a video showing his current best way of making Gold.
As you can see, he mainly uses the recipe for “Workman’s Balm” of the alchemy profession. It’s a very basic level 10 recipe that generates a supplement. But more importantly, you can sell it for more than the initial Commission fee. It’s not even close to be exact. Rainer claims you can make up to 60 Gold per day and character that runs the task 24/7. That’s… uhm… nice!
Find Selling Values That Top the Commission Cost
While not as profitable, there are other recipes that produce items that can be sold for more Gold than the task’s Commission cost. Of course this makes most sense with an Artisan that further subtracts from Commission, but it quite frankly works with any. So after all you might not even need to go out to the world and start farming Gold. Instead, simply set up some farm alts that run certain recipes all days and transfer the Gold to other Workshop toons that need it.
